REsides CEO Colette Stevenson to attend South Carolina Realtors Annual Conference & Expo

South Carolina Leaders Converge to Share Ideas & Perspectives on Hottest Topics Facing Agents & Brokers in Dynamically-Evolving Real Estate Climate

REsides, the first and only MLS to launch a revolutionary new equity-ownership model for its members, announced today that Colette Stevenson, CEO, will join industry leaders at the South Carolina Realtors Annual Conference & Expo next week. The conference is attended by real estate leaders throughout the state of South Carolina. Attendees include executives from brokerage companies, the SC Realtors association, MLS organizations, and technology and risk management companies. This year’s conference is being held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Greenville, SC from September 14-16, 2022. REsides is an exhibit sponsor and will be located in booth #1.

This conference will offer inspiring and motivating keynote speakers, including Phil Jones, an expert in the power of words; Wayne Salmans of Hero Nation; and SC economist; Dr. Joseph Von Nessen. Informational and thought-provoking sessions are divided up by tracks for agents, brokers and teams. The agenda showcases a variety of pressing and important topics covering law, risk management, industry tips, diversity, technology and more.

“These are very interesting times in the real estate industry and especially for agents and brokers,” said Stevenson. “Now more than ever, our industry needs smart and forward-looking solutions that put the value of the listing data back in the hands of the individuals who own the data – the brokers – and provide them with new and innovative avenues for compensation for their data that go far beyond any traditional models that have existed for too long,” Stevenson said.

Stevenson has been on the forefront of leading change in MLS for years. She attends conferences, speaks about dramatic change affecting MLSs and is committed to building the MLS of the future that empowers and compensates brokers for their valuable listing data.

“I look forward to joining industry peers throughout the state of South Carolina next week to discuss the dramatic and widespread industry change impacting real estate and in particular brokers and agents in South Carolina,” Stevenson said. “Innovation and modernization will be the focus for our industry as we navigate and move forward in this new era. It’s important that, in the midst of big tech, we not lose sight of the strategic value of the listing data and quickly harness the power of ownership for brokers and MLS executives for the first time ever in our industry,” she added.

Stevenson re-branded Hilton Head MLS to REsides in 2021 in order to expand and bring the dramatic and needed change to MLS. “The REsides model is a first-of-its-kind in MLS,” said Stevenson. “It’s revolutionary and marks the beginning of new ways of thinking that put the control back in the hands of brokers who feel new competitive pressures brought on by big-tech.”
